1w – The Massacre
Someone will one day say, “ware that man [...] he has blood on his hands.” The Doctor sees cities burn, blood flow. Here, Hartnell’s dual role gives us a sense of foreboding of the Doctor that is to come. The familiar old grandfatherly professor is replaced by a completely different character, and perhaps it’s a harbinger of the change, and the loss of the man who has been the one constant on our journey so far…
